WCPA Members Send Support to Bite of Seattle Shooting Victims

Washington Coalition for Police Accountability (WCPA) impacted families send their support to victims and their families of the deadly shooting at the Bite of Seattle at Seattle Center on July 26.

Elaine Simons, WCPA impacted family and foster mother of Jesse Sarey, said 

“We send out our support to the victims who were murdered and injured at the Bite of Seattle shooting, as well as witnesses of this tragedy. As an organization consisting of families who have lived experience of witnessing and being affected by violence, we know only too well the trauma of this experience.”

Sonia Joseph, WCPA Board President and mother of Giovonn Joseph-McDade, shared that one of the individuals shot was her family in-law. This act of violence comes only months after another family member was seriously injured in an officer-involved shooting. 

We hope for justice, accountability, and healing for those affected and the City of Seattle.
