Washington Coalition for Police Accountability Receives $450,000 Grant from Inatai Foundation to Promote Safer Communities Across Washington State
We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a $450,000 grant from the Inatai Foundation. This generous funding will be provided over three years and will directly support our mission to advocate for police accountability, justice, and safer communities for all Washingtonians.
"We are deeply grateful to the Inatai Foundation for their continued support of our work," said Dr. Gary Damon, Jr, Interim Executive Director of the WCPA. "This grant will enable us to expand our efforts to bring about meaningful reforms, engage with impacted communities, and push for policies that ensure transparency and accountability in law enforcement. Together, we can create a future where every Washingtonian feels safe."
Rubén Peralta, the Program Officer at Inatai said, “As a foundation seeking to support organizations across the state who are building power for equity and racial justice, we are proud to grant Washington Coalition for Police Accountability with a Response & Recovery Grant. The coalition’s work is deeply rooted in advocacy, accountability, and systems change—the very kind of community-led work that is important for our future.”
The funding will help WCPA continue its advocacy and education campaigns, ensuring that the voices of families and communities impacted by police violence are heard and amplified at the legislative level.
