Shine a Light on Police Misconduct

Volunteer with WCPA + DivestSPD to Build Washington’s First Statewide Database

Why This Matters

Police misconduct investigations are scattered across hundreds of files, making it nearly impossible for the public to see patterns of misconduct by officers and enabling of misconduct by law enforcement agencies. We’re changing that. Together with DivestSPD, WCPA is creating a statewide database of police misconduct investigations, the first of its kind in Washington.

Your work will turn hidden records into a powerful tool for accountability.

What Volunteers Do:

  • Data Entry – log details from misconduct files into our database.

  • Verification – double-check entries for accuracy.

  • Records Requests – help track down missing case files through public disclosure requests.

  • Analysis – spot trends, patterns, and problem agencies.
